It was good to see them all. You'd have thought I'd been gone for years instead of months.
Leavenworth is one of those towns that created a theme to draw tourists. Mom remembers riding the train to Leavenworth to watch the ski jumping events while she was in high school. The town was not much more than a gathering of ski cabins and maybe a couple of restaurants. Now it is a Bavarian resort town. Very cute.We had a nice lunch, then spent a couple hours wandering through the shops. Nobody bought anything other than lunch and ice cream. It was a pleasant, if hot, day with family.

Don't blink more than twice. King Abdullah Hussein of Jordan is touring thru eastern Washington this weekend on his 1998 Heritage Softail Harley. How can you tell who the king is? He is the guy that looks remarkable like you, Scott but has a better tan (kinda permanent)and a couple years younger. Plus he is the guy surrounded by men wearing black suits with REALLY big bulges under the arms who never smile. Plus they drive near the King in REALLY big black Chevy suburbans. If you happen, by chance, to meet up with him he is one of the most polite and approachable Kings around these days. He likes to discuss riding and motorcycles.
